At The Art of Landing a Job, you will learn valuable advice on how to develop your job search skills from alumni of assorted professional backgrounds. This is a perfect opportunity to ask questions about anything from finding career opportunities and completing job applications to preparing for interviews and marketing your Arts undergrad skills. In this conversational setting, alumni will also offer tips on how to navigate the transition from student life to the workforce.


Meet the alumni panelists

Faith Marere (she/her), BA’20 IR & Economics
Business Analyst, Amazon
Faith is a Business Analyst with an education in International Relations and Economics. She has experience in supply chain and has worked in last mile operations and in analytics at Amazon since graduating from UBC.

Atlas Mohammadzadeh, BA’22 Psychology
Business account and product manager
At the age of 19 I immigrated to Vancouver from Iran, had to learn English for the first time. I was accepted into different colleges and universities but my ultimate goal was to graduate from the one and only UBC. Eventually I transferred to UBC during the pandemic, graduated in Psychology, and loved it. I use what I have learned at UBC every day at work. After 6 years in banking recently switched to real estate and got my license here at UBC again and love this line of work as well.

Emma Lloyd (she/her), BA’18 IR
Manager, Program Administration, UBC Sauder RHL Graduate School
Emma Lloyd is an experienced project and people manager with a background in higher education and tech. She has led cross-functional teams and delivered complex initiatives at organizations such as UBC and Bench Accounting, with a focus on stakeholder engagement, change management, and team development. Emma is passionate about creating impactful change for the community through collaboration and data-driven strategies.

Christina Treleaven (she/her), PhD’22 Sociology
Director, Strategic Insights, Lululemon Athletica
Dr. Christina Treleaven, a mixed-methods researcher and sociologist, specializes in developing actionable insights and strategies that drive organizational success and long term results. As a leader and facilitator, Dr. Treleaven is dedicated to fostering inclusive environments and promoting cross-functional collaboration to ensure the delivery of impactful, results-driven solutions.

Gabrielle Morin (she/her), BA’21 Theatre
Actor, Educator, emerging Theatre Director
Originally from Montreal, Gabrielle is a Vancouver-based actor, educator and emerging theatre director, and a proud Anthropology alum. As a multi passionate, hyper creative freelancer, she enjoys how no two weeks in her life are ever the same. Whether she is recording a podcast, touring francophone schools with a music show, or producing festival events, she enjoys meeting inspiring gamechangers and carving her own path.

Mason Margotta (he/him), BA’17 Asian Studies
Manager, MBAN and B+MM Student Experience, Sauder School of Business
Hello! I currently work for the Sauder Graduate school helping to manage the student experience for two of our programs, which involves administration, student support, and academic advising. I have worked at UBC for over 5 years in various roles, including in Residence Life and for the Arts Compass! I have also worked at UVic, and did my Undergraduate degree here at UBC in Asian Area Studies.

Julia Zhou (she/her), BA’15 Interdisciplinary Studies
Senior Manager, Digital Platform for Data Platform Engineering, Aritzia
Julia Zhou is a seasoned technology professional with experience at global brands such as Aritzia, Lululemon, and Best Buy. She specializes in web and app analytics, data privacy, and has a proven track record of building scalable data infrastructures for digital platforms. Julia is excited to share her journey from UBC to managing analytics for e-commerce businesses.

Carl Cai (he/him), BA’20 Economics
Senior Financial Analyst, BC Housing
I graduated from UBC in 2020 with a degree in Economics. During my time at UBC, I was part of the Arts Co-op program and completed the work terms in research, insurance, and real estate. Currently I work on financial analysis and reporting at BC Housing.
