When will my registration appointment be available?

Registration appointments are released up to one week before your scheduled registration time. Learn more about registration dates. See the tutorial for how to view your registration appointment date in Workday.

My friend is in the same program and year level as me. Why do they have an earlier registration time?

Registration appointments are based on multiple factors, not just program and year level. As a result, students in the same program and year level may receive different registration times.

My registration appointment does not match my year level. How can I get this fixed?

Year levels (or Class Standings) are calculated based on the number of credits students complete with a passing grade, as outlined here. Each year level is then associated with specific registration open dates.

How to check your year level in Workday: Click on your profile picture on the top-right > Click on “View Profile” > See your “Class Standing”. If you have questions or concerns about the year level listed on your profile, contact Arts Academic Advising.

I added a course to my saved schedule. Why doesn’t it appear on my Workday calendar of registered courses?

Saved schedules are simply planning tools and are not the same as registered courses. Courses will only appear on your Workday calendar after you have officially registered for them.

If you wish to make changes to your registered courses, ensure you are editing your registered courses and not just a saved schedule. Learn how to drop, swap, or withdraw courses.

I am receiving a saved schedule error that I am not eligible for a Term 2 course, despite adding the pre-requisite to my Term 1 schedule. How do I resolve it?

This error is normal. Once your registration opens, simply register for your Term 1 courses first. The error message will then disappear, and you will be able to register for the Term 2 course.

See the tutorial for how to resolve errors on your saved schedule.

I added a lecture and discussion section to my saved schedule. Why am I receiving this error: “Your saved schedule is missing course sections that must be taken together”?

Some lecture/discussions are clustered, meaning specific discussion sections must be taken with specific lectures. Selecting the incorrect combination results in this error. Make sure to choose the discussion section that is specifically paired with your chosen lecture, or vice versa.

To view clustered course sections: View the course schedule > Click on the lecture section > See the discussion sections listed under “Students must enroll in one of the following” > Select a discussion from that list that fits with your schedule and has seats available.

I registered in multiple full-year courses. Why have I received an error message that I reached my credit limit for Term 1 even though this is not the case?

Due to a Workday limitation, credits for full-year courses all sit under your Term 1 credit limit, rather than being split between the two terms. If registering in multiple Term 1-2 courses is preventing you from registering in your full credit load, due to incorrectly receiving the credit limit error message – please submit Arts Advising’s online Credit Load Adjustment form to have your credits manually redistributed.

Please contact Arts Academic Advising with any questions or concerns. Learn more about credit limits.

I’m having trouble accepting my waitlist seat offer. How can I select my discussion section and/or find the “Submit” button?

Make sure (a) you are using a Google Chrome browser and (b) to zoom out on your browser window to 100% zoom or less. If you are too zoomed in, the table where you may need to select a discussion section and/or the “Submit” button may not be visible.

I was offered a seat off the waitlist, but I am not able to register as it says I have exceeded my credit limit. What can I do?

You will need to either drop one of the courses you have already registered in to accept the notification or contact Arts Academic Advising to discuss your options. Learn more about credit limits.

How can I see my registered courses?

In Workday, hover over “Student” on the sidebar > Select the “Academics” app > Click “Registration & Courses” at the top > Click “View My Courses” on the right.

My registration has opened but I don’t see the “Register” button. How do I resolve this?

Check your Workday profile to see if you have a hold on your account. “Registration Add” and “Full Registration” holds will prevent you from registering in any courses. You must follow the instructions listed to resolve the hold before you can register.

For financial holds, contact your Enrolment Services Advisor or the Enrolment Services office if you require support.

I am unable to drop, swap, or withdraw a course because the “Actions” button is missing.

Check to see if you have any holds on your account. If there is an existing registration hold on your record, the “Actions” button will disappear from your profile. You must follow the resolution instructions listed on the hold before you can adjust your registration.

If there are no registration holds on your record, but you are still unable to drop, swap, or withdraw from a course, check to see if the add/drop or withdrawal deadlines have passed.

I am trying to swap a course but I received an error message stating that I can’t swap into a course section cluster. How can I resolve this?

Some lecture/discussions are clustered, meaning specific discussion sections must be taken with specific lectures. The swap button cannot be used if the course/section you are swapping into or out of is clustered. Therefore, in these cases, students must drop the current course and then register in the new one.

Before completing this action, make sure to check how many seats are available in both sets of course sections.

I am a Dual Degree student. How do I ensure that my courses are registered under the correct degree?

Dual Degree students should always register their courses through a saved schedule. Since saved schedules are always associated with a specific degree, any courses registered from them will automatically end up under the correct record. Even if you are registering in an individual course, add it to a new saved schedule first, and then register that saved schedule.
