A BIT ABOUT JORDAN

Title: Academic Advisor

Department: Faculty of Arts

Summary of your role: I support the training and implementation of Workday Student for the Faculty of Arts.

BRAINS BEHIND THE WORK

What is a project or work achievement you are most proud of? Why?

Being the Training Lead for Workday Student for the Faculty of Arts has been one of the best opportunities I’ve experienced. Over the past few months, I led a small team in exploring different functions of Workday and creating training materials for the staff and faculty in Arts. I had numerous chances to be creative, think outside the box, and collaborate with amazing people in the UBC community. It’s incredibly rewarding to learn something new and then share that knowledge with the Faculty. Without this project, I don’t think I would have had the opportunity to highlight my passion for project management and change management.

WELLNESS THAT WORKS FOR YOU

How do you like to recharge?

I love working out as a way to decompress and shift my perspective. However, my favourite activity is preparing for and running marathons. During marathon training, rather than focusing on how to survive another kilometer, I shift my attention to things that keep me engaged while I run. I find it therapeutic as it allows me to process my thoughts, be creative, and plan for the future.

WALK DOWN MEMORY LANE

If you could give a shout out to anyone on campus, who would it be and what would you say?

Merry Wang—there was an interesting time in my career where I felt like I was constantly chasing the finish line. Thank you for always believing in me and supporting all of my crazy ideas to make things happen.
