BRAINS BEHIND THE WORK

Tell us about the team you work with. What do you admire about them?

I am truly grateful for the incredible team I work with on the Arts Workday Student Implementation Team. They play a pivotal role in our project work, serving as the backbone that propels us forward. The Faculty of Arts owes much of its current success in project completion to their dedicated efforts. Without their commitment and hard work, we wouldn’t have achieved the milestones we have to date.

What stands out to me about this team is their unwavering willingness to lend a helping hand. Their genuine care for supporting staff, faculty, and students within the Faculty shines through in every task they undertake. I deeply admire their dedication and collaborative spirit, and I am confident that their ongoing support will continue to propel us through the coming years. My thanks and appreciation to: Antares Lam, Stella Yuen, Amanda Coccimiglio, Conor Trahar, and Lauren Cheal.

How do you like to recharge?

To recharge, I enjoy dog walks for fresh air and playfulness. In 2023, I set a goal to spending 30 minutes daily in nature. This time helps clear my mind. I also find that music is a source of joy, whether it’s singing as a member of the Faculty of Arts Staff Choir, or listening to it on my commute to and from work.

What is the most important lesson you have learned in your career?

The most vital lesson from my career as a project manager is recognizing that people are the key to project success. You can have every tool and process run perfectly, but without the people supporting the likely result is failure. The opportunity to build connections across Arts has enhanced collaboration, promoted trust, and ensured everyone is aligned with our objectives. In essence, prioritizing people and relationships lies at the heart of effective project management.

Is there anything else you would like to share?

I know that it is challenging to change the way we work, and that these systems are essential to our student’s success. I am fully committed to supporting Arts through this period. I’ve worked to build strong relationships with members of our community and I plan to continue this so that we are ready to overcome these challenges together. If there are specific concerns you’d like to discuss further, feel free to reach out. I am always happy to go for a walk or a coffee chat!

A Message of Gratitude from Lauren Cheal

“I wanted to highlight the work Adrienne Tiltman has done to prepare the Faculty of Arts for the transition to Workday Student. Adrienne’s ability to anticipate how this change will impact the work done by a significant number of people in a vast range of roles is commendable. She is an uncommonly kind person who trusts her team and supports them in the best ways. She also has a beautiful singing voice (you may have heard her duet at the Arts Staff Choir performance in July).”
