The event is co-organized by Central, Eastern, and Northern European Studies, Classical, Near Eastern, and Religious Studies, French, Hispanic, and Italian Studies, and Asian Studies.
MOA’s popular Sound House series returns for its second season. In this lively talk, acclaimed anthropologist and neuroscientist Dr. Helen Fisher reveals the three brain systems that evolved for mating and reproduction—the sex drive, romantic love, and attachment—and maintains that while online dating won’t alter these basic mating instincts, it is definitely changing how we court and who we choose.
Mysterious Barricades Concert Society is organizing an annual series of cross-Canada concerts for suicide awareness, prevention, and hope. Come check out the Vancouver concert – featuring the finest musicians from the UBC School of Music faculty, and President Santa Ono as speaker and cellist.

The second annual ARTIVISM is a student-run festival focused on social justice. It gives student artists a chance to create, exhibit, and perform their work throughout UBC’s venues including the Museum of Anthropology, the Belkin Art Gallery, the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts, Barnett Hall, Dorothy Somerset Studio Theatre, Hatch Gallery, MAS and AHVA art gallery.

The Urasenke Foundation of Vancouver is hosting tea ceremonies at Nitobe Memorial Garden on Saturday Sep 28. Visitors attending the ceremony can witness the formal preparation of tea and participate as guests.
Reservations are strongly encouraged as space is limited to ten people for each ceremony.
