The Designing Your Future – Career Exploration Studio is a program for undergraduate students in the Faculty of Arts, and consists of four in-person workshops and two group informational interviews with alumni (Arts graduates).
All of these sessions are designed to support you in exploring what career means in the bigger picture of your life, learning about a range of workplaces where Arts alumni are employed, and leveraging your Arts degree in a job search.
This program was offered for the first time in February 2022, and 95% of participants reported that they would recommend it to a friend in Arts! According to participants, the program was helpful because…”It encourages you to be introspective in a specific, practical way,” and “It definitely motivates you to put yourself out there and do something. The advice is pretty specific and Carli, Julie, and all the alumni are good mentors to listen to. It is overall a good experience that leaves you feeling better than when you first go in, and clarifies some unclear information about job hunting.”
This program is open to all undergraduate students in the Faculty of Arts (any academic program and year level). Participants can expect an interactive, cohort-based experience through which they will become more self-aware and develop professional skills. Those who participate in all components will be recognized accordingly, which can convey their motivation and follow-through to prospective employers.
