Alumni Office Hours with Gabrielle John (MA’16)

The Centre for Student Involvement and Careers, in partnership with the UBC Hub of Ten Thousand Coffees, is excited to bring you a virtual mentorship and networking opportunity to connect with Arts alumna Gabrielle John.

In this Alumni Office Hours, Gabrielle will share her non-traditional journey into international development, including how she moved from science to the arts. She’ll share more about the opportunities she sought out whilst in graduate school and what to expect from a career in international development.

This event is open to all students and alumni.

Bio: Gabrielle John is a Technical Specialist on Political Participation with UN Women in Papua New Guinea. Her previous work with UNDP in Bangladesh and the United Nations Secretariat in New York focused on youth, gender and peacebuilding. She holds an MA in Political Science from the University of British Columbia and a BSc in Medical Science from the University of Birmingham, UK. Gabrielle has worked and volunteered in Argentina, Bangladesh, Ghana, Guatemala, Nepal and Papua New Guinea.
