“The one skill you can bring to the workplace is agility and flexibility,” says Carmen Lee, Global Alliance Marketing Lead at Deloitte Consulting, a professional services firm. As an Arts student, she adds, “You are usually on the forefront of change… studying the bigger trends taking place in society.” Carmen began at Deloitte as an intern and keeps coming back: she’s now on her third stint at the firm over her 20 year career. In this interview with Michelle Murphy, alumni UBC’s Career Educator, she talks about how being an Arts student taught her to adapt, how she learned about job postings before they were published, and what she advises her student mentees.
